Such a creative question Steve. Thanks so much for the reference.

That could be the most interesting thread of 2008 so far ;-) and many
years before. I hope "Incomers"
will follow up.
In my case, it's not exactly a change of mind, rather a concentration
of focus (but so strong
it can be taken as a change of mind) :
I am now totally convinced that DIGITAL AND INFORMATIONAL LITERACY is
form far the overmost
priority against digital divide and that it does not receive the
deserved attention and creativity
from practicioners. Shall I add that digital literacy IS NOT a one
week course of Windows
and relevant applications? It is a long, complex and comprehensive
task of education centered on
information and knowledge where methods and cultures are the key points.
It is so easy/lazy to see the problem in restricted terms of connectivity...
If ICT4D were beneficiating of "impact evaluations" (instead of
"results evaluations")
this would probably come as a huge evidence...
PS: I take the opportunity to invite anyone near Namur (Belgium),
Jan. 11th 2008, to this event:
IFIP-WG9.2 Namur Award : http://www.bfia.be/events.html
