<incom> OOXML and the Politics of Standardization

Now that ISO is now being drawn into a politics-of-standardization 
debate, not unlike WIPO (which until very recently no-one outside 
expertist circles knew much about) and the controversy regarding a 
possible 'development mandate' etc., I wonder if this is sth that could 
also be addressed in the context of the Access-to-Knowledge campaign; I 
am not sure to what extent that A2K is still alive (the list is, but is 
the campaign?), or whether it even addresses the role played by 
standardization bodies.

As far as lists go, the one started by Norbert Bollow seems to 
coordinate some of the activities between now and the Feb 2008 ISO meeting,
